IED Attacks from Wikileaks Afghanistan War Logs

Found this interesting video on YouTube that visualizes the data from Wikileaks Afghanistan War Logs. Since the data only covers up to December 2009, the current situation is much worse. This is all due to the fact that the current government has not provided the means for a overall stability and improvement for Afghans. Their entire focus is on how to steal money and how to fill up their own pockets.

IED Attacks as documented in the data leak by from Julian Assange’s Wikileaks overlaid on a NATO map of the area.

The green explosions are ones in which no one was hurt, yellow ones are injuries only, and red ones are fatal IEDs. On the death and injury tallies, the left column is friendlies (including both allied forces and civilians), and the right column is so-called “enemies”.

Kabul Bank – Where are all the stolen western money is placed and gambled

warlord

It is funny that Kabul Bank has existed for so long. The very foundation of the bank is based on corrupted and malicious intentions. This is the where as the saying goes “I scratch your back and You scratch my back” is visualized into practice.  All the corrupt minister and  warlords are in one or the other way involved in this bank. It is founded thanks to “the black gold of Afghanistan” which is opium.

Money laundry is the core business and another area is to smuggle and sell valuable stones from Afghanistan to Europe and the rest of the world.

Aid money and international assistance fund that was intended to rebuild Afghanistan is directly placed into this bank and are canalized abroad. Dubai has been the sanctuary thanks to another company owned by the same corrupt governmental personalities and warlords. Pamir Airways is involved in the smuggling business both when it comes to valuable stones and money from Afghanistan to the west. The denominator for these new companies is the same people as for Kabul Bank. Sherkhan Farnood, Qasim Fahim and the brothers of Hamid Karzai.

In one way or the other is the brother of President Hamid Karzai, Vice President Qasim Fahim, brother and son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, Qanoni, Rabbani, Mohaqiq and many more involved in all these “new” companies.

Officially none of the above mentioned personalities are registered to have any income or very little income. The tradition has been to register all the companies and the wealth on a close relative. For instance President Hamid Karzai show an income and wealth on 11 000 US dollars, several companies and hundred of million US dollars are with his brothers.  The same goes for Qasim Fahim and all the other corrupt governmental officials.

Now finally the reality has reached Kabul Bank and thousands of people are standing on a line to withdraw their money from the bank due to the rumors that the bank is short of money.  Article such as “In Afghanistan, signs of crony capitalism” by The Washington Post, has unmasked the leading figures of Kabul Bank and Pamir Airways. Islamic Banking and professional Poker tournaments don’t go hand in hand.

Iran and Pakistan intervention in Afghanistan – Kill the Americans and make money

The news of the five Iranian companies involved in funding Taliban for attacking and killing American soldiers was nothing new to me. I had heard the roumours before and new from sources inside Afghanistan who confirmed the fact of this systematic intervention in Afghanistan. I don’t know why it came as a surprise for the media in west by hearing this fact.

The people of Afghanistan has ever since the international forces were stationed in Afghanistan has proclaimed that the neighboring countries are intervening in Afghanistan. Pakistan has been the one most openly showing its support to the Taliban forces. Not only giving them safe ground and traning camps inside Pakistan but reports from Wikileaks has also confirmed that the Pakistani intelligence service ISI involved. By brainwashing, training and paying suicide bombers for each attack in Afghanistan have created a nightmare scenario not only for the international troops but also for regular Afghans. Lawlessness and lack of security has created a vacuum where bandits and kidnappers are making big money as a side effect of this. Let the Afghans determine their own future

Corrupt Afghan Government
Corrupt Afghan Government

It seems to be clear for more and more people that the war in Afghanistan is not going exactly as they planned. The corrupt government backed up by the minority groups in Afghanistan as well as the bandits of the Northern Alliance is has not achieved what was expected from them. The corruption as well as the discrimination of wast majority of the Afghan population seems to be clear to even highly ranked officials of the NATO forces. Recently the “independent MP Andrew Wilkie says foreign troops, including Australians, should get out of Afghanistan even though that means more people will die”.

The very moment US forces started the war against Talibans the intervention as well as taking side in a multi-cultural and ethnic dispersed country created an unbalanced situation in Afghanistan. The majority of the populations were put aside and minority groups with previously no power what so ever came to rule over the majority. This situation is much different from the case in Iraq where Saddam Hussein’s government were oppressing the majority population could easily be settled down eventually, even when it came with a highly costly price for the people of Iraq.

A highly corrupted government where strong powers are backing up for each other, stealing the incoming international help together with the opium production money has created a situation where life in Kabul is as expensive as living in New York. Ordinary people with low salaries are not able to buy basic goods due to the high prices. People outside the capital are self-sufficient and not affected in the same manner.

What is important is that the recent escalation of attacks on international troops as well as the national army indicates that the days of these bandits and warlords are counted. Afghan people want to create the natural balance it once had where majority of the people can get access to the basic governmental functions.

Instead of intervening with a complex tribal society the international forces in Afghanistan should let Afghans determine their own future.
